I’ve been growing a hydroponic Anthurium for three years. It started as a very small seedling planted in a net pot filled with pebbles, bark, coconut husks, and LECA. The net pot is placed on top of a glass vase, with water always inside the vase, soaking the bottom of the net pot. The plant is kept near a north-facing window.
Every month, I clean the glass vase thoroughly, rinse the substrate in the net pot, and wash both the front and back of the Anthurium leaves. I then pour about 20 ml of diluted liquid fertilizer (Schultz 10-15-10, diluted at a ratio of 1:1000 with water) into the vase, refill it with water, and ensure that the bottom of the net pot is soaked in about 1 cm of water. I check the water level daily and add water whenever it drops below the bottom of the net pot.
From my experience, hydroponic Anthuriums do better in larger vases. Small vases make it hard to keep them healthy. This particular Anthurium in pictures is in a 6-inch net pot (15 cm in diameter), and the total height of the plant and vase is about 70 cm, making it quite a large setup.
