Should You Remove Clivia Fruits?
When a Clivia is in bloom, if insects pollinate the flowers, it may develop small green fruits. These fruits will gradually turn orange-red or red as they mature.
Should the fruits be removed?
1．If You Grow Clivia for Ornamental Purposes, It Is Recommended to Remove the Fruits
Because:
Producing fruits consumes a large amount of the plant’s nutrients
It may affect the mother plant’s recovery and potentially impact flowering next year
Leaf growth may slow down, and the leaves may lose some of their glossiness
If the plant is still young, recently divided, in average condition, or has fewer than 12 leaves, it is strongly recommended to remove the fruits.
2． If You Want to Propagate from Seeds, You Can Keep the Fruits
Clivia fruits can be used to grow new plants.
However, please note:
The fruit has a very long maturation period — it takes about 8 to 10 months to fully mature
During this time, the mother plant provides a large amount of nutrients to the seeds, which may reduce its ornamental value
Seed-grown plants grow slowly; it usually takes 3 to 5 years from seed to flowering
If one plant develops multiple fruits, it is best to keep only 2 fruits, unless the plant is very strong, has many leaves, a well-developed root system, sufficient light, and adequate fertilization.
How to Grow New Clivia from Seeds
Wait until the fruit is fully mature (red in color and slightly soft)
Remove the seeds from inside the fruit
Sow the seeds directly (no need to dry them)
Plant them on moist growing medium
Keep the temperature between 20–25°C
Germination usually takes 1–2 months

君子兰开花时，如果有昆虫参与授粉，会结出绿色的小果实，果实会慢慢变成橙红色或者红色。这些果实需要修剪掉吗？

因为：
结果实会消耗植物的大量养分

如果君子兰植物还小，刚分株，状态一般，叶片少于12片时，建议剪掉。

君子兰的果实是可以培育出新植物的
需要注意的是：
果实的成熟期很长，要8到10个月左右才会完全成熟
会消耗母株大量的养分，整个成熟期母株的大量营养提供给种子，母株的观赏价值降低
用种子播种，幼苗生长缓慢，从种子到开花通常需要3到5年时间
一棵植物如果有多个种子，最好只留2个果实，除非植物非常健壮，叶片很多，根系很好，光照充足、肥料充足。

等果实完全成熟，出现红色，表皮有点软
取出里面的种子
直接播种（不需要晾干）
播种在湿润的介质上
保持温度在20到25摄氏度之间
一般需要1到2个月才会发芽
